12-13 York Buildings, Hastings
Mackellar Schwerdt oversaw the conversion of the late Georgian Grade II Listed accommodation at 12-13 York Buildings, Wellington Place, Hastings for clients Hastings Borough Council.
The accommodation had been previously used as offices/stores, above a separately leased shop unit, and was in a significant state of disrepair having been essentially unused for about 30 years. The heritage works to the first, second and third floors has seen the conversion of this underused accommodation to six one-bedroom flats, creating much needed affordable flats in the centre of Hastings, whilst securing the future for the historic fabric.
